Camilie Albert (she/her) is a sexologist, member of Ordre professionnel des sexologues du Québec since 2019. Since then, she has practiced sexology (education and counselling) in various fields, gaining expertise in

Since then, she has practiced sexology in different fields. This has allowed her to develop her skills, among others, in perinatality, prevention of STIs (sexually transmitted or blood-borne infections), sexuality education for various populations and sexual and gender diversity, including support for people in medical and social gender transition.

She specialized in sexuality education by obtaining a master’s degree in education from Université du Québec à Rimouski. She has been a lecturer at Université du Québec à Rimouski since 2022 and teaches sexuality education to future preschool, primary and secondary school teachers as well as special education teachers.

Sexologists provide individual, couple or family consultation activities to a variety of clients, as well as support, behavioural and sexual development assessment and diagnosis of sexual disorders (subject to holding the OPSQ training certificate) as well as psychotherapy (subject to holding a permit issued by the OPQ). The reasons for consultation are varied and related to the different dimensions of human sexuality.
These sexologists can also offer workshops, conferences and training related to sexuality (consent, self-esteem, etc.) for schools, organizations and businesses.

Sexologists have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in sexology or equivalent training, recognized by the Ordre Professionnel des Sexologues du Québec. This training focuses on understanding the sexual behavior and development of the person as well as learning knowledge, know-how and interpersonal skills aimed at improving, maintaining or restoring sexual health.
Sexologists can work with individuals, couples, families, groups or communities.
